Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers and donors who participated in our Annual Toy Drive! Thanks to friends like you, we collected thousands of toys that were delivered to more than 1,400 children at 500+ households throughout the region. Information on our 2018 Toy Drive will be available in the fall. Holiday Toy Drive Information:
For many of the kids we serve, the holidays are difficult. Some children may be separated from their parents, others from their siblings. At least 90% come from families living below the federal poverty level. All have experienced significant trauma that taints the warm holiday season.
We invite you to make the holidays brighter for these boys and girls.
Join our Holiday Toy Drive! We offer many ways to participate. Please read each volunteer opportunity carefully, as some changes have been made this year.
Coordinate a Child Advocates Toy Drive at work, among friends and family, at your child’s school, or at your church, synagogue or mosque. We will send you the names and ages of children – you tell us how many – on adhesive labels that can be distributed to your donors. We suggest a minimum of 10 children. When you’re done, deliver the toys to us or for larger loads, we can arrange to pick them up.
Buy gifts for our children (Birth to 21).We especially need gifts for teenagers. Gift cards are an easy way to give to this age group and our teens love them! Ideas: American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Five Below, Foot Locker, Old Navy, Target,Urban Outfitters, movie theaters, restaurants, etc. Click HERE for gift ideas for all ages.

If you have completed a background check in the past year, please send a copy of your clearance to Cate Galbally or fax to 267-546-9201, attention Toy Drive Clearance. Child Advocates volunteer attorneys and 2014 – 2016 Toy Drive Drivers do not have to undergo another background check but will need to contact Cate Galbally to register. If you need to complete a background check, please click HERE to begin the process.
Sponsor a needy family or teen on a larger scale. Many of our clients’ families are impoverished with large sibling groups or special needs children, and may require more than toys.

**Things to remember: The deadline to deliver toys to our Toy Drive headquarters is Thursday, December 14th, 2017. Please do not wrap gifts, give candy, or weapon-themed toys.
On Monday, September 25th, Child Advocates hosted our annual Golf Classic at the beautiful Philadelphia Cricket Club, where golfers enjoyed playing on two spectacular courses. We were grateful to spend the day with so many of our friends and supporters.
All proceeds from the event support Child Advocates Project for Medically Needy Children, a critical program that teams staff social workers with specially trained volunteer lawyers to secure necessary medical treatment, special education, rehabilitation services and permanent nurturing homes for our young clients with serious and/or chronic medical needs.
Thousands of children in Philadelphia are living lives ravaged by abuse, violence and neglect. Last year, Support Center for Child Advocates’ teams of volunteer lawyers and staff social workers served more than 925 children by providing legal representation and social services advocacy. Each year, we are called upon to represent even more at-risk children who need our help. This is why Child Advocates is coming to you now.
You don’t have to be an expert in child welfare law to help a child. What you do need is a desire to add meaning to your life, to grow in your profession, to leave a permanent imprint on society.
As a Child Advocates Volunteer Attorney, you can change the story.
THE FIRST STEP IS SO SIMPLE.
