The Child Advocates Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Lisa Barrimond, Esq. has agreed to serve as our next Bob & Penny Fox Executive Director, effective November 30, 2024. Lisa served in this capacity on an interim basis for the duration of our previous search, and we are thrilled that she will be taking on the position permanently moving forward.
This announcement follows the resignation of Dominic Prophete, who has decided to return to the New York area where his family continues to reside. This change took effect on November 29, and we thank him for his service over the past year and wish him well in his future endeavors.
Lisa’s work is well known at Child Advocates from the three years she has spent as our Managing Attorney starting in 2021. Her experience prior to joining our organization is equally as reflective of a deep commitment to the work we do in youth representation and public interest law: she previously served as a child advocate attorney for the Defender Association of Philadelphia and as a senior associate with the Law Office of Erik B. Jensen, P.C. She earned both an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and J.D. from Temple University, as well as a B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College.

Managing Attorney Lisa Barrimond as New Executive Director
Philadelphia, December 2, 2024 – Support Center for Child Advocates (Child Advocates) today named Lisa Barrimond, who has served as the organization’s Managing Attorney for more than three years, as its new Bob & Penny Fox Executive Director. Barrimond’s new position is effective immediately.
Barrimond replaces Dominic Prophete, JD, who is leaving Child Advocates after one year so he can return to the New York area where his family continues to reside.
“We’re delighted that Lisa has accepted our offer to become Child Advocates’ third Bob & Penny Fox Executive Director,” said Alisa Gifford, Child Advocates Board President. “She has proven herself again and again as our long-time Managing Attorney, as well as during her brief stint as interim Executive Director last year. Lisa has the ideal blend of expertise, experience and passion for our mission, progressing through increasingly senior roles, and we’re excited to see how her leadership will shape our future.”
Prior to joining Child Advocates, she served as a child advocate attorney for the Defender Association of Philadelphia and as a senior associate with the Law Office of Erik B. Jensen, P.C. She earned both a J.D. and M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, as well as a B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College.
